Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

What can be done if a neighbor hinders the sale of our property by approaching potential buyers with negative and false information? We have lived here since 2001, and have numerous police reports regarding them threatening me and other issues. The neighbors are in part, the reason we are trying to sell. Thank you.

Gee, ya think? Call the cops every time. Contact an attorney. You can sue them.

That and think about getting a broker involved too? You could probably use someone who is not only your advocate but your buffer and if the neighbor starts screwing with signs, open houses, prospects, etc., you can bet your bottom dollar the broker will protect their commission!!!! Plus in Illinois you are responsible for putting out a disclosure about your property conditions and the broker would be responsible for making sure the CORRECT information got out. And a broker can do different things like actually make appointments so that your neighbor isn't able to interfere....think about it.
