Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

Signed purchase proposal = binding ?

If a purchase proposal is signed by both parties for a set amount and a down payment is paid. Can the seller go back and add additional fee's to the purchase price that where not previously known about or is the original purchase price the set price.

This is to deal with a car purchase. I and the dealer signed the purchase proposal for a set amount. I was then called the following day and told they had to add a fee for gas and advertisement. Also the car I ordered is preorder and not out yet. Is it legal for them to add these extra fees even though the purchase proposal was signed by me and the manager, and a down payment was made before they wanted to add the extra fee's.

Thx

P.S. Is a purchase proposal a binding document in Illinois?

Is a purchase proposal a binding contract in Illinois?

Re: Signed purchase proposal = binding ?

Without reading the purchase proposal, it is impossible to give you a definitive answer. That said, generally speaking a car dealership cannot renege on an accepted offer.
