Marrying on a B1 visa

Hi,

I am intending to marry my fiancee who is an american citizen. I have a B1 visa and is it ok to marry using that. What is the safest way of going about this? If my I94 expires, how do I go about it if we have applied for the adjustment of status. Should I leave the country and enter again or what the procedure? Is it better to be on an L1 or H1 and then marry and try to sort out the change of status. Please advice me on this.
