Superior Court is a civil court in most jurisdictions and can have a small claims division for claims under $6001. Other cases are called plenary matters. If the amount is over $6000 or the landlord is seeking some releif not within the power of a small claims court, it would be a plenary matter in Superior or Circuit Court.
