Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Indiana

I want a copy of the report

I pressed charges on a man for taking advantage of me sexually. I had conflicting issues I was dealing with and I dropped the charges. The police led me to believe they did not believe my story and told me to admit to my mistake, I was asleep when this man started taking off my clothes and gave me no choice in whether I wanted his attention or not, but it's my mistake. I was not able to fight and scream because of past rape issues. When I realized what was going on, I did nothing but comply with what he told me to do, and allowed him to do whatever just to get it done and over with. I know how misleading this was, thus the reason I dropped the charges. But to have the police threaten me with false charges and possible civil charges against me?....I want a copy of the report. I do not want it redacted and I was told I have no right to it. What are my rights?

Re: I want a copy of the report

You have no right to see the report. If you are later sued or prosecuted, you or your attorney may see it.

As a practical matter the report is useless to you since you can do nothing with it unless some action is taken against you.

As a refresher on reality, you do realize that your misguided actions could have sent the man to prison for life. You don't seem bothered by this.

You need professional help - not necessarily legal assistance.
