custody

I want to know in the state of iowa if your not married and theres no custody agreement, does the mother have full custody until there is an agreement?

It's kind of like being in limbo. The issue simply has not been decided yet. There's no default position that I know of, although the courts give a lotof deference to the person who has actually been raising the child, and that's usually mom.
