Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

Court order to release adoption

In appx. 1976 I was coerced into signing for adoption two young male children. Within the past year I have been reunited with the oldest male child. We have a very good ongoing relationship and I have met his adopted parents and we like each other. I am trying to locate the younger child who is now over 18 years of age. Is there a court order that I can petition for to release the adopted name? This is the third law site taht I ahve asked this question to over the past year, I have yet to receive an answer from anyone. Thank you kin advance for answering. I will hire the services of an attorney if I can find one to represent me with this.

Re: Court order to release adoption

I originally wrote a long response but my computer froze up before I could send it. Contact the Office of Community Services of the Louisiana Department of Social Services ant tell them you want to register as a biological parent whose son was adopted. Have your oldest son do the same as looking for his sibling. This may help. We who do adoptions can sometimes unlock records to assist in finding natural children and birth parents. This is done for a fee and there are no guarantee of success.
