ownership of lawsuit

my 20 something year old son who live at home with his parents had a lawsuit in progress before he died. the case is ongoing now in his out of wedlock minor's name. my question is if anything happens to my grandchild before she becomes an adult, who is entitled to my son's money?

The claim now belongs to your grandchild, so his mother would then inherit what he has.
