If im in a grocery store and someone starts throwing eggs at me am I allowed to pepper spray them?

That is a question of fact for the judge or jury who decides whether pepper spray is reasonable force to defend yourself against egg throwing, or whether it is an unreasonable escalation of force.

Yes issue is reasonableness. Sounds pretty unreasonable to me, given the fact that you could just walk away from the egg thrower. Pepper spray affects everyone in the store. Also, uncooked eggs or hard boiled? Could make a difference, but even with hard boiled that isn't too much of a weapon, especially compared to pepper spray.
