Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
if a person in the state of maryland have an assault-sec degree and the state picked it up but the victum after being drunk when the charged have now say it was an accident after the victum was hitting the defendent and the victum want the charges drop. will the defendent still go to jail

Possibly. The case is State v. Defendant instead of victim v. defendant. Whether to dismiss is up to the state and not the victim.
