Our firm regularly handles DUI cases in MD, including those of out-of-state residents. If we can get a PBJ for you (probation before judgment), then you would not have a conviction or any points going to your Michigan license. However, normally MD would not give a PBJ if you have priors within the past 10 years. A basic plea getting you probation (no jail time) is the probable best outcome here. We can also suggest some immediate steps that will lessen the changes of any jail time at all. Prompt action is key. Please contact us ASAP. See our website at www.aabramslaw.com Good luck!
Re: maryland dui
You are facing likely jail time in Maryland. The maximum sentence is 1 year jail and $1000 fine, but these could increase if the State files notice about your priors. The penalty depends on many factors, such as the facts of the case, the county you were arrested, the judge, the prosecutor, and most importantly ... your defense lawyer.
DO NOT procrastinate, you should get a defense lawyer in this case as soon as possible to work on any defenses (factual or legal) that you may have. You would be surprised at how many ways there are to beat a case like this.
You can call me anytime if you want to talk in more detail.
