Hello, My name is Brittany and I am only 14 years old. Ive been living with my grandparents since I was a baby and they have been taking care of me since then including financially. My parents do not take care of me at all and I feel as though they need to pay child support before I turn 18 because its not fair my grandparents have to take care of me and struggle all on their own. When I grow up I would like to attend college and Ive realized I might not be able to because I need money to go through with that plan. So my parents need to do something can someone please give me advice or help me with my situation please understand Ive been through a lot, beings though Im only a child.

Grandparents raising a grandchild may petition the courts for custody and child support. They may want to consult with a family law attorney to talk about the process. Many circuit court houses in this state also offer a no-cost "self help" or "pro se" clinic staffed by family law attorneys where people can get direction in which forms to file to start the process. If your grandparents are unable to hire an attorney they may want to start there.

While the above is not legal advice, I hope that it helps point you in the right direction.
