Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

My wife filed for divorce while I was in the hospital. She received temporary custody of all of our furniture, etc. due to me being still under a doctors care. It has now been approx. 2 years and 4 months. I have paid close to $8,000 to my lawyer. Her lawyer has just dropped her because she owes him $7,900. Where do I stand here. She had a 401 k plan for $10,000, $ 42,000 in another retirement plan plus several other savings plans she empied out since she filed for this divorce. Nobody seems to know how to contact her. She has been using at least 3 different address since this all started. I am disabled and only receiving my social security disability each month. What can I do about this situation ??????? Thank You for any and all information you can send me back.

Get your lawyer moving! If she's out of the picture, now's the time to move on this divorce and get it finalized. Light a fire under your lawyer's butt or find a new one who is willing to push things along at a faster pace.

Best of luck.
