WCC to sign settlement papers

Had two back surgeries. Last one was in 2006. Permanency rating of 40%, back to work at same pay, different job (light duty). Offered 60,000, attorney sent me a form to sign If I agree to take settlement offer. I signed it. Called attorney two weeks later for status and was advised they are waiting for approval of settlement from insurance company. (confused about this when they are the ones who offered settlement amount) How long does this process normally take? Assuming the insurance company signs settlement agreement and it is forwarded to WCC, how long does it take for WCC to sign off on it and do you think they will sign off on it? Once they sign off, how long does the insurance company have to send check?

It usually doesn't take very long for either the insurance company or the WCC to sign off. The WCC will review it to make sure you understood what you were giving up in the settlement, especially if you agreed to a "full and final" without reserving any medical benefits. This is usually ill advised unless you've been assured by your doc that you will almost assuredly not need further medical attention to your back.
