Legal Question in Insurance Law in Massachusetts
Hi i have a friend who has got himself in some trouble with his car insurance. the problem is that he tried to file a claim that is windows where broken on his car, when the adjuster came he showed them the wrong car(trying to get windows for a similar car not the one insured). well the insurance adjuster took pics of the car and vin and told him that she would contact him with an estimate in a couple days, only problem is she didn't send him an estimate she sent him a certified letter (he never picked it up do to job). he then found out by a man who followed him to his father in laws house, that his claim was denied and is under investigation. my question is, is this a possible insurance fraud if so what are the penalties in ma. and should he contact an attorney before speaking to his insurance? please help he is a good kid just not to smart when it comes to money.
