Legal Question in Insurance Law in Massachusetts

I was recently involved in a rear end collision. The driver of the car in front of me stalled his car out coming off the off ramp. He was test driving a car and the car had dealer plates. The driver told me that he was not an experienced driver of cars with manual transmissions and that he stalled the car out. Am I at fault?
