Legal Question in Insurance Law in Massachusetts

I had a kitchen fire back in January. My family has been staying at a hotel. My home insurance co. has not settled on the final payment to me. My home was ready to be occupied August 13. I want to leave the hotel but I do not have money to pay the bill. Can I make a verbal agreement with hotel management to go back home and pay the outstanding bill when I receive funds from the insurtance co.?
