Legal Question in Disability Law in Michigan
Good Afternoon, As a result of cancer treatments in 2006, the Chemo left me with severe Neuropathy. I've had my doctors fill out forms for my workplace, that state I should not be subjected to weather extremes. As a result of these forms the agency made concessions last year allowing me to work from home during the cold months. My annual review was excellent. I approached my supervisor in October this year about the accommodations and he stated "We are not going to make any concessions this year, you were supposed to retire in July and didn't" as it stands now, I was denied concessions and I put in a formal request and directed it above my supervisor. I filled out these forms on October 15th requesting accommodations start on November 1st, On the 30th of October I got another form from our EEO officer requesting I fill out their form. I filled out their form and submitted it. I have had no response at this point. Is it legal to hold retirement over my head instead of making ADA the same accommodations they made last year? Nothing's changed health wise. Thank you
