Legal Question in Business Law in Michigan
Auto leasing dispute
I recently traded my leased car in for the same model, same dealer for a new car. I negotiated for the new lease and payed off the remaining months for my old lease and for exceeding the milage. Two months later I received a bill from the bank that I had the lease from asking $350 for a vehicle return fee (it is on my old lease) and another $250 for ''multiple damages'' which they state as chips. My car was in great shape and had only the normal wear and tear for a four year old car. After speaking with the dealer he admited that he ''forgot'' to tell me about the return fee. Who could help me decide what I am legally responsible for and how to tackle this? I have the copy of my old lease and the dealer has agreed to write a letter stating that the car was in good shape. I am furious at both the dealer and the bank - but don't want to pursue this if I don't stand a chance. Any help or a name of an attorney that is familiar with leasing/auto laws would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for this opportunity to find someone.

Re: Auto leasing dispute
What it comes down to is they are trying to squeeze you for more money. I personally have not heard of a vehicle return fee. I would love to help you out. I could review your lease and make a few phone calls. Please call my office to discuss the matter further. 24 hours at (800) LAW-6685 or (248) 737-7000.
