Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
Holding Bond
What and why is a holding bond issued after a regular bond has been paid for on a charge. New evidence was submitted just before a plea was asked for by the judge. Does this hold bond mean the criminal will have another bond to pay or is it just another term for the same thing?

Re: Holding Bond
Your question is a little confusing. I have never heard of a "holding bond." But a "hold" on someone means that another jurisdiction has a matter pending involving that person. So if someone is being held on a criminal charge in one jurisdiction, the other may come to pick him up to answer on the other jurisdiction's charge. I think I am probably not answering your real question. I f you would like to call my office, feel free (and that is free) 734-420-2518.
