Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

misdemeanor charge

My son had an accident. Hit a telephone pole and left the scene of an PDA. He received a civil infrac - failing to maintain control of a vehicle and a misdemeanor charge - leaving the scene of an accident. Have to see the prosecutor at the court. I do not know if I should hire a laywer or just go in with him. Do you have any idea what charges I am looking at.

Re: misdemeanor charge

Before I can answer your question fully I would need to know in what county this occured, and how old your son is when it happened. Also, how is his driving record?

Re: misdemeanor charge

Your son is charged with failing to maintain control of a vehicle and a misdemeanor charge - leaving the scene of an accident. It is very clear that you are not qualified to practice law. Of course you should hire a lawyer.
