Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

establishing paternity

My Dad recieved paperwork from Michigan stating he owed child support for a child he did not know existed, The mother was married at the time to another man and put my Dad as the father of her child. He asked for a paternity test and the court is denying him it. What can be done to get the courts to let him have a paternity test?
