Starting a custody battle.
Long story short, my fiance obtained his daughter because, the mother abandoned both of her kids. She left both of her kids with an ex-boyfriend and, told them that she would be back in a few days and never came back. The ex-boyfriend called my fiance and asked to come pick up his daughter (the other child is the ex-boyfriends' son). My fiance had no idea that the mother was going to do this or had done it until 4 days after the incident. He took his daughter enrolled her in school and told FOC what was going on. They told him that he had temporary custody of her, so there was nothing she could do to get her back until they went to court. 2 months went by and finally the mother called my fiance. She wanted her daughter back and said that she had a place for her to stay and everything. My fiance told her that their daughter would not live with her. The next day, mom came to school was was able to pick his daughter up because, FOC had not pushed the papers through. Now we're trying to find a way to obtain custody of his daughter. She's in a bad home and, I am terrified for her. We have contacted FOC and they said to go to circuit court and file papers. Circuit court said not to file papers. They said he needed a mediator first and,

You need to see an attorney, you would really benefit from hiring one in this circumstance.
