Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan

My car was towed and opened with confidential documents inside

my car was parked in a permit only spot for 10 minutes with the flashers on. in this time it was towed and the tow person went into my car and turned the flashers off. when i went to the tow company the man refused to let me get confidential work papers out of my car and told me that no one had gotten into my car, but the flashers had been turned off. is this legal? can he get into my car even if there is not need in order for him to tow it? he also refused to tell me the name of the companys owner or the man who towed my car. i want to bring some litigation against the company, both for towing the car and getting into my car? do i have any grounds to do this?

What do you think a jury would give you for damages? If you were on the jury, what would you award? Once you answer this question, I think you can see the futility of bringing such a suit.............unless you are willing to shell out the money for the massive amount of time that would be spent pursuint the case. I think you underestimate the incredible expentiture of time and energy in such an endeavor. William S. Stern
