lost deposit
landlord trying to update his house with new carpet. sofa left stains on carpet but the carpet is at least 10 yrs old. what can i do ? i will pay half the replacement cost

It is not your responsibility to repair and/or replace the carpet. In Michigan the landlord is responsible for damages due to ordinary wear and tear. A ten year old carpet is going to have some stains which would be ordinary wear and tear.
