Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Michigan

I have a situation where my therapist speaks so loud that her secretary can hear our conversation outside the door because her office space is next to the door of the therapist. I want to record the conversation between me and the therapist because of this setting. I see the secretary as a third party. Could I record the conversation inside the therapist room? I no longer see the conversation with the therapist as a private conversation since a third party his been given permission to be next to her office where she can hear the session.

Also, when in a session with the therapist, could I record the conversation when a third party is in the same session?

Don't record the conversation. It can do no good and only cause problems. It may be illegal. The secretary is part of his office and has the same duty of confidentiality as the therapist. Get a new therapist since you obviously have issues with this therapist. William S. Stern
