What is the statute of limitations in filing a medical malpractice lawsuit in the state of MICHIGAN? I need this answer for a Medical Law & Ethics class

It isn't as simple as that. Generally speaking there is a two year statute of limitations, however, it is modified for minors and persons with disabilities as well as problems with plaintiff's discovery of the claim. The pertinent statutes can be found at MCL 600.5838 - 600.5856.
