Legal Question in Personal Injury in Michigan

I leased my ex a car (we were together at the time) because he has bad credit... and he verbally agreed to make the payments on the car. After a year of making payments he stopped and failed to tell me that he got into an accident with the car and it's no longer running. Now I'm stuck with a $30,000 bill for a car I have never driven or seen in three years. Is there anything I can do to hold him responsible for the loan that was taken out on the car???

I believe a lease requires full coverage insurance. Was the car insured? As long as you have evidence of the agreement, you should be able to sue him and maybe do something about the car to minimize your ultimate losses. Visit www.kliszlaw.com to discuss. Tim Klisz
