copies being sold

Hi i am wondering if a printer/laser company has a right to resell a product that was my idea and intial design,that he was ask to keep only for me and verbally agreed to that i have used in the painting of my decoys for over 3 years he cut me the stencil but is now reselling it to other carvers for there use.

the orginal file on his computer has my Name on it but i don't know what to do to stop him from doing it i have bought many copies of it from him over the last 3 years.and never thought he would sell it I'm a coomercial carver and use it on alot of my fish.

Your question relates to ownership issues related to work for hire and potential copyright issues. In the matter you describe, the artistic product was created by an independent contractor, which may mean, in the absence of a contract to the contrary, that the independent contractor would own the product.
