Im starting a small business and wondering besides the assumed name and LLC paperwork, what else do I need to file with the state and federal government?

Re: small business

Depends on whether single owner or not. You may also need a Federal Tax ID # , an Operating Agreement, Buy-Sell agreement etc. ALso, if you do business online you will need to assess TM and domain IP issues.

Call or email for further assistance. I make more money on clients who set up their business on their own, then came to me for help later when problems blew up.

Re: small business

Thank you for your question regarding a business start up.

You have evidently already chosen a form of business organization (an LLC), and are aware that you can register an assumed name. You may require a federal tax id number for the business and, depending on the nature of the business, your product or service, and the manner in which your business will be conducted (store front, from home, over the internet), you may also need to be concerned about trademarks and other aspects of your business practice that are potentially subject to regulation. Many service businesses require state, and possibly local licenses, or permits. I would also be concerned about the manner in which your business is structured (that is, whether you are separating your personal affairs from business matters), and whether you have employees, partners or investors of some sort.

If you have further questions or concerns, you can feel free to contact my office. My contact information is below.

Good luck.
