Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

Guardianship of mentally handicapped soon-to-be-adult

My ex-wife and I have been discussing a guardianship/conservator for our son who will soon turn 18. My ex has decided that she wants to be sole guardian/conservator despite my protest. We currently have 50/50 physical and legal custody. What are the chances that the court would allow this to stand? My ex's reason is ''I don't want to have to deal with you for the rest of my life.'' this despite the fact that we have had no disagreements on our son's care in the last 2.5 years since separation/divorce. I believe she wants sole guardian so she can move out of the area and take my son with her permanently. HELP!
