Legal Question in Immigration Law in Minnesota

It really depends on how long you have been in the U.S., presumably in a tourist status. The concern is that a Change of Status (COS) may be denied if it has been less than 60 days since your last entry. More so, if it is documented that you contacted the school within 30 days of your entry, then this may also be a reason for denial.

Otherwise, applying for COS may take many months, whereas depending on where you are from it may take a shorter amount of time to have the visa stamped in your passport.
