Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Minnesota
Items left behind on property
Here is the situation. I have two properties. I am currently living in one and my two sons are living in the other one. One is married my my religion. No marrage liscence or anything. My son and his so called wife we driving somewhere when they got pulled over and now he is in jail. The reason is because his wife had drugs with her and my stupid son pinned it on himself instead of letting her take the blame. So in our religion we have finalize thier divorce. I have kick her out of the house. Because technically there was no contract. It has been two weeks since I have kicked her out and her stuff are still there, but she isn't. I have contacted her regarding her belongings, but yet she has not come to get her items. So what I am really asking is, What can I do about here items, because technically she did not rent the property and even if she did not rent the property and was just staying with my son does that consider her a renter?

Re: Items left behind on property
BY kicking her out you violated MN law. You need to evict her by Unlawful Detainer action in COURT. ALso, you cannot dispose of her personal property without following the procedure required by MN Statute.
