Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Minnesota

What can get you out of a lease?

I was wondering if there was a way to get out of a lease? My husband left me and his name was taken off the lease we signed and I cannot afford this apartment on my own..

How was his name "taken of the lease"? I need to review your written lease to advise you. Divorce or separation is not usually enough. Death or Bankruptcy would terminate the lease in some cases, but best is to approach the LL (or have your attorney negotiate a termination.)

I have been a LL 25 years. Call or email for assistance.
