Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Minnesota
What do I do with a roommate problem with no contract?
My roommate moved in with me and was aware of how much rent was, but we did not draw up a contract. They moved out a month ago and did not pay me any of the rent money and has also stored their stuff here since they left. Is there any way I can take them to court for the rent money and charge them for storage?

Yes and no. Need to review your lease. Did LL know of move-in and consent to it?
You may have an illegal sublease, which means you cannot enforce an action for rent vs. departed roomie since it is an illegal contract.
Need to review lease etc.
I have been a LL for 25 years and counsel numerous LL's and property management companies.
