Legal Question in Immigration Law in Missouri
Denied Citizenship
I work for Military as an interpreter here in Iraq, I hold a Greencard, I have been working with them in Iraq since Novembre of 2006,I have applied for citizenship in July of 2007, and I did my fingerprint in Baghdad and passed my interview March 08. I got back from US to Iraq and I called INS to check when they will hold my Cerimony and they told me that my case was denied on April 7th and they have sent me a letter but my husband told me that he hasnt received anything yet. I went and checked on the USCIS Site to see if I can appeal but they said I have to appeal during the 30 days that I was denied. I have a clean record and I dont know really what would be the reason for denying it for me. I have worked for the military and I didnt take any vacation for a reason, so do you think they will deny it because I did stay over seas for over a year and I am holding only a green card.
please advice what to do in here, I would like to appeal it but it will be over 30 days.
can someone advice me what to do?
Respectfully
Hind

Re: Denied Citizenship
You have time till May 7th to appeal. Appeal takes long time. You can also re-apply. But if you have stayed outside the USA for more than 1 year you have a problem.
