Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Missouri

My father died last October and had a Will in place. I recently acquired a copy of the Will but there is no verbage to who gets what percent of his estate. My step mother who is the executor of the Will says she gets 70% and my sister and I split the remaining 30%. How do I know if this is accurate.

Probate is being handled in St. Louis County Probate Court in Missouri.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I must admit that I am confused. If the will doesn't say who gets the estate, then what does it say? That is the primary purpose of the will. Did you get the copy from the Probate Court? If not, then you should get one there. You could try contacting the attorney representing the estate. If he/she won't speak with you then you should probably hire your own attorney.

If the Will does not specify who takes under the Will, and in what percentages, then how does the step-mother come upwitih 70%? You need to consult with and hire an attorney to represent you in this matter to be sure that you receive whatever you are entitled to under the Will and under the law.
