Legal Question in Workers Comp in Missouri

Emotional distress

I was injured in a punch press accident at my job, I lost my right thumb, since then I have have not been able to look at a machine without feeling sick or having flashbacks. Can emotional distress be added to the Workers Comp claim?

Re: Emotional distress

unfortunately, no. Workers Compensations claims are governed by the chart of body parts, and emotional distress is not listed. However, if you are needing mental health care for this injury, your rating may need to be looking at your "body as a whole" instead of just your hand.

You should speak with an experienced attorney about this matter soon.
