Legal Question in Technology Law in New Jersey
Help! I am being accused of posting an ad.
My ex fiance filed a citizen complaint and a temporary restraining order on me-He is seeking revenge because I had to testify as a state witness against him for slashing my car tires in an act of domestic violence / criminal case. I viewed him on a survalliance video in court slashing them outside of a restaurant I was at.Right after I testified.....He told police I posted a sex ad about him with his first name and phone number on Craigslist. This was on a male for male personals section. I now have the copies he submitted to police and it is obvious to me he cut and pasted it into a word program and made it look like an ad. There is no proof any ad was posted. Also Craigslist does not allow ads to be posted with phone numbers so I won't bother getting a supoena to trace IP address. I can't find any laws pertaining to lying about an ad being posted, making a fake ad to appear real, or saying that I posted something I really didn't do. Also the mere fact that it is a retaliation for my testimony. What rights do I have for being framed? and just to mention he has been signing me up for all kinds of mailing lists on line and I now get all types of phone calls as well for things I never signed up for saying thank you for your application

I suggest you get an attorney right away! I have an office in Toms River and Computer Crime is one of the major focus areas of my firm. Check out my website for more info. You need to jump on this and press charges against him. The best defense is a good offense.
My initial consultations are always free, so call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss your case.

To Mr. Henninger's advice I add that you should contact the prosecutor in the criminal case in which you gave testimony. Retaliation against a witness is a criminal offence. So is fabrication of evidence. If the facts are as you have stated them, your ex may be looking at a substantial fine plus jail time.
