Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey

What is the statute of Limitations for credit card debt in NJ? A lawyer call me with regarding a debt that is 12 years old and I have not made payment to that account in that period as well. Can they still legally Sue Me. I am going to respond to them by asking them to validate the debt, certified, receipt.

Six years from the date the last payment was made. Sometimes they trick you into sending anything just to reset that tiem period. Anyone can sue you. You just have to fight back whent they do.
