Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

My house was having a party and the cops came and busted the party. WHen asked what the reason for the complaint was, he said there was a call from the neighbor, but on the ticket he said he was the complaining witness. Instead of writing one single ticket for 5 separate people to pay, he wrote 3 tickets for the same violation for 3 of the 5 housemates. I also asked him if just because people are standing on the public streets if that if enough to get into a house legally. He didn't answer and left. I have a mandatory court appearance, what should I do?

My advice is to never go to court on a criminal or quasi-criminal charge without a lawyer. If you do decide to go on your own plead NOT GUILTY on the first court appearance and prepare to go to trial on the second court appearance. I don't advise you to do this, however. Please call me to discuss your case in more detail and to see what I could possibly do to assist you. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.
