Re: Alimony

WITHOUT GIVING SPECIFIC LEGAL ADVISE, IN NEW JERSEY THE ONLY WAY FOR ALIMONY TO END IS FOR ONE PARTY TO DIE OR THE EX-WIFE TO REMARRY. THERE MAY BE AN ADJUSTMENT IF SHE IS LIVING WITH SOMEONE. THE ONLY OTHER WAY IS IF THERE IS A CHANGE IN CIRCUMSTANCES SUCH AS RETIREMENT OR LOSS OF JOB OR ILL HEALTH. ANOTHER WAY WOULD BE TO OFFER A LUMP SUM BUYOUT TO END ALIMONY BY AGREEMENT OF THE PARTIES. IF YOU WANT TO DISCUSS THIS IN MORE DETAIL, CALL FOR AN APPOINTMENT.
