Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

I have a case that has already been ruled on. The other party had 45 days to appeal, which they decided they did not want to appeal. I went to court today to see if I was responsible for my ex-husbands attorney fees. That was the purpose of this hearing. To my surprise my ex-husbands attorney brought up the case that had already been ruled on and settled. Who can I turn to for a fair hearing. I need to know who I can report this behavior to. My attorney explained this case to the judge, who obviously did not know the law in this area. Please direct me to the agency where I can find help. I just want an honest judge who knows the law.

Respectfully,

Frustrated

If you have a problem with the court, you need to file an appeal. It sounds like you should have a long talk with your attorney.

Was there a ruling today?

A Motion for Reconsideration might be appropriate...Your lawyer may need to take further action...so talk to him or her---Maybe a brief needs to be filed--

How much is involved?
