Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey

My former employer has a copy of a electronically signed non-compete agreement (which I do not remember signing) and has advised me that I am required and they are permitted to advise my new employer that I signed the document. Is this accurate and can they stop me from working for someone else?

First, you have the right to request a copy of the agreement and you should request it.

Second, non compete agreements are tricky and at times not even enforceable regardless of what your former employer tells you! Once you obtain the agreement I can review it. Review should be straight forward and relatively inexpensive.
