Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey
I was fired from my position for "filing an incorrect timecard". I applied for unemployment, was initially declined, fought it, was brought up to a "judge" were me and my company were on the phone to plead our cases. 2 days later I was proved not guilty for lack of better wording and had all my unemployment approved. My question--being that I was found not guilty in that sense and proven innocent did they then fire me unlawfully? Do I have a possible case? Thank you. Never written up prior, no issues. This was in the state of NY.

All this means is that you did not commit an act that would disqualify you form receiving benefits. If you believe that there actually was another reason (age, sex, race, national origin, disability, family medical leave, or cheated out of time) then you may have a case.
