Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Jersey

Illegal Apartment

I may have an illegal apartment and everybody in City Hall is dragging their feet. Can I sue the city for approving an illegal apartment and can I sue my landlord for the illegal apartment?

Re: Illegal Apartment

Without more details on what is illegal about your apartment, it is hard to say whether any lawsuit would be successful on the merits. I can tell you that suing any city is wrought with certain hurdles due to the NJ Tort Claims Act. Give me a call for a free consult and we can discuss this further.
