Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

I was pulled over in NJ and subsequently roughed up and arrested for what the officer says is having outstanding warrants against me. He said the warrant stems from NJ traffic violations back in 1998. This is completely bogus, the car was not registered to me nor have I have ever even visited the place in NJ where the warrants were issued. Additionally, I have NEVER had a problem with my license, always maintain a clean driving record, and my license has never been suspended. Furthermore and unfortunately as an African American male, I have grown accustomed to being harassed by police officers. I have probably been pulled over at least a dozen times in the NJ/NY area since 1998 and I have gone to court on every single occasion. This has NEVER EVER been brought up prior to this latest episode. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME CLEAR MY GOOD NAME!

Wow. Lousy.

You will have a very tough time getting a lawyer interested for a couple of reasons. Local lawyers will not want to go after local cops because they will have a very hard time continuing to practice law in that town.

What you are describing is a pretty rotten violation of your civil rights.

Call me, set up an appointment and I will meet with you and see what I can do.
