short certificates

For how long are short certificates valid? The one I have left was issued in 11/07 by Atlantic County (NJ) Surrogates Ofc.

Re: short certificates

Most banks and institutions want one dated within 60 days. Some may accept an older one, but probably not from 2007. You can order a new certificate from the Surrogate. The cost is usually $5.00 each
