Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
felony on record
I have one felony from 1970 on my record. I was in jail for the night and in the morning when i saw the judge he threw the case out. Judge Bruce Right was his name. but the felony still on my record and i do not know what it is for. I was trying to get a vendors license but i could not because of the felony on my record. I need help with clearing my record, so i may be able to get a vendors license for my business. Pls advice if you can help?

Re: felony on record
What you seem to have is a criminal record for an arrest that was thrown out by the court. A record for an arrest always appears but on the same line it will have a disposition that it was dismissed. I won't see why that this would be an obstacle since you do not have a conviction.
I would need more information on this.
I was around in 1970, and I would think that this arrest could have been sealed to prevent this problem.
