Re: Petty Larceny question

Petty larceny is a criminal offense and therefore you should get an attorney to represent you . If you can not afford one the court will usually assign a public defender, if you want to retain your own counsel you may contact my office @718-834-0087 for more information.

Re: Petty Larceny question

You should always have an attorney represent you in a criminal case. Without an attorney, you not be able to evaluate the fairness of any plea offer that the District Attorney makes nor will you be able to evaluate whether to accept a plea offer or go to trial.

A criminal conviction can have serious consequences on your future, especially with job searches. I highly recommend that you retain a lawyer or, if you cannot afford one, ask the court to appoint one to represent you.

Re: Petty Larceny question

You are almost certainly better off with an attorney to represent you in a criminal matter. The offense of Petit Larceny is a misdemeanor punishable by up to 1 year in jail. However, with your age, and I'm assuming no criminal history, you are likely to get a favorable plea offer. This may be accomplished with the help of an experienced criminal attorney. You are welcome to call for a free consultation.
